These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Deep Scan mobile application, website (deepscan.edwid.in), and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1) Definitions

"User" / "you" means any person who accesses or uses the Service.

"Content" includes text, images, links, data, software, designs, and other material made available through the Service.

"Search Results" means outputs, links, summaries, or information displayed by the Service in response to your query.

"Third-Party Services" means third-party websites, platforms, APIs, data sources, app stores, tools, and services not owned or controlled by Edwid.

2) Eligibility (Age + Legal Capacity)

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally capable of entering these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other entity, you confirm you have authority to bind that entity.

3) Scope of Service

Deep Scan is a discovery and aggregation tool intended to help users find and organize publicly available information and links.

3.1 No guarantee of accuracy: Search Results may be incomplete, outdated, incorrect, or misleading. The Service may provide references/links, but you are responsible for verifying information independently.

3.2 Not a background check / not consumer reporting: The Service is not intended to be used as a "consumer report" or for eligibility decisions (e.g., employment, tenant screening, credit, insurance, education admission, or similar decisions). You agree not to use the Service for such purposes.

3.3 No relationship with third parties: Edwid is not affiliated with and does not endorse third-party platforms, websites, or their content. Third-party terms apply when you use those services.

4) Account, Subscriptions, and Payments

Some features may require a subscription or payment.

4.1 Billing: Payments and subscriptions may be processed via Google Play and/or Apple App Store or other authorized payment providers. Pricing, billing cycles, and available plans may change at any time as permitted by law.

4.2 Auto-renewal: If your subscription is auto-renewing, it will renew unless cancelled through your app store settings before the renewal date.

4.3 Refunds: Refunds, if any, are governed by the refund policies of the platform through which you purchased (Google/Apple), unless otherwise required by applicable law.

5) Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

  • Harass, stalk, threaten, defame, dox, or invade privacy of any person.
  • Use the Service for illegal activities, including fraud, impersonation, extortion, blackmail, or discrimination.
  • Use the Service to facilitate physical harm, intimidation, or targeted harassment.
  • Attempt to access, collect, or share sensitive personal data unlawfully (passwords, OTPs, financial info, private messages, etc.).
  • Use automation (bots/scripts) to scrape, crawl, overload, or interfere with the Service.
  • Reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works of the Service, except to the extent permitted by law.
  • Circumvent security features or access controls.
  • Upload or transmit malware, spyware, or harmful code.
  • Use the Service for commercial resale, "data brokering," or bulk people-search operations without Edwid's written consent.
  • Violate the rights of others (privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other legal rights).

We may suspend/terminate access for any prohibited use.

6) Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for how you use Search Results and any decisions you make based on them; maintaining the security of your device and account access; and complying with all applicable laws (including privacy/data protection laws).

7) Data, Privacy, and Removal Requests

7.1 Privacy Policy: Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy regarding personal data processing, the Privacy Policy controls.

7.2 Information about other people: The Service may display information that appears publicly available on the internet or from third-party sources. Edwid does not guarantee accuracy or suitability for any particular purpose.

7.3 Correction / removal / complaint process: If you believe Search Results include incorrect information or violate rights, request review by emailing dinesh@edwidtech.com with your contact details, specific links/screenshots, and supporting proof. We will review and respond within a reasonable time.

8) Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Service belong to Edwid or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, lawful use. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without written permission.

9) Third-Party Links and Services

We do not control and are not responsible for Third-Party Services. Your use is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.

10) Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

11) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Edwid will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Total liability is limited to the amount paid in the 12 months prior to the claim, or INR 1,000, whichever is higher.

12) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Edwid from any claims or losses arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any law or third-party rights.

13) Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms, create legal risk, or as required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time.

14) Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15) Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Kolkata, West Bengal, will have jurisdiction over disputes.

16) Severability

If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

17) Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement regarding the Service.
